Broad Horizons Montessori School is located in Carmel, IN. 

Our mission is to support each child at his own level to gain independence and self-confidence through positive learning experiences and to educate parents in supporting that process for their children.

Our goal is to provide a safe and encouraging Montessori environment for all children. Recognizing that children come with a broad spectrum of learning abilities and styles, we will continually strive to meet the individual needs of our students for instruction, sensory integration, motor function, cognitive development, language acquisition and functional communication skills, social skills, boundary setting, proprioception, and introspective emotional self-control. Our staff will be up to date in their knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders and the Montessori Method.

We are building community, and strive to support parents and others in the positive education of children and families through sharing of our knowledge, book lending, seminars and parent conferences. We offer a stepping-stone developmental program which allows each child to learn in an environment best suited to his/her needs, whether it be one-on-one instruction, small group instruction, or traditional classroom instruction. We encourage and try to provide additional opportunities for physical and speech therapy, art, music and foreign language studies, ABA verbal therapy, and are open to other therapies which will benefit the development of the whole child.  We have experienced long term relationships with clients/parents over the last eight years.

Our Director, Susan Pieples, has a strong management and business background as well as teaching experience. We hire experienced, diversified teachers in the field of learning disabilities and/or Montessori philosophy.  

Because we believe in educating the whole child, we can  provide additional opportunities for  Physical and Occupational Therapy, Play Therapy, Sensory Integration, ABA Therapy, on our site.  We specialize in assisting children with learning disabilities, including dyslexia, ADHD, Bi-Polar, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.  We also have an individualized program which helps children with gifted intellect who are looking for a challenging environment and unique learning opportunities.

Autism is the fastest growing caseload of disabilities in the state’s developmental services system. We are the only school to offer a diversified program aimed at teaching children with Autism Spectrum Disorders in the State of Indiana and are qualified to provide services under the Autism Waiver and the Medicaid Special Services Waivers.
